LACTOSE
INTOLERANCE |
The inability to digest significant amounts of lactose, the predominant sugar of milk. Many who suffer from lactose intolerance have no problems with goat's milk because it contains less lactose than cow's milk. |
COW'S MILK
ALLERGY |
A sensitivity to cow's milk protein. Because milk allergy usually involves a sensitivity to bovine protein, many people with cow milk allergy have no problem with goat milk |
Goat milk contains 13% less lactose than cow milk and 41% less than human milk. It is closer to the composition of breast milk than any other milk or formula and is less likely to cause adverse reactions in infants. Goat milk-fat particles are small and easier to digest. It is ideal for people that have ulcers or other digestive upsets. Goat milk fatty acids have a unique metabolic ability to limit cholesterol deposits in body tissues. Goat milk and cow milk taste about the same. Mother's milk is the best milk for infants. However, for mothers that smoke, diet, use drugs (including alcohol) or who choose not to nurse, goat's milk is a healthy alternative.
